There are 3 (three) positions available for this posting.
Position Description:
- Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to communicate with appropriate student age groups to reinforce student and classroom espectations.
- Ability to lead student exercises and activities.
- Ability to maintain clerical records and filing systems.
Physical Requirements:
Working closely with students can be both physically and emotionally tiring. May require exposure to adverse weather conditions and noisy work areas. Duties may include supporting students who need help with basic life skills, including feeding and toileting.
Special Requirements: (Certification, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
- Supports and supervises students with developmental delays.
- Implements positive Behavior Support Plans and Plans of Independence for students with special needs.
- Follows prescribed Safety plans.
- Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for teaching or reinforcing material or skills based on individual student's needs, interests and abilities.
- Serves as the primary source of information and assistance to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of a regular teacher.
- Types correspondence, bulletins, reports, instructional and curriculum material from rough copy or dictation.
- Keeps class attendance and related instructional records; files materials; checks materials in and out.
- Performs basic secretarial and clerical tasks associated with the production of materials for instructional programs; types and duplicates materials, files and maintains records.
- Performs related duties as directed by the building administrator and certified teacher in charge.
NUMBER OF HOURS PER DAY: 6.50 hours per day
NUMBER OF DAYS WORKED PER SCHOOL YEAR: 186 days per year
REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Special Services
