Description | Position Summary
Oregon City Together, in conjunction with school districts of Oregon City District 62 and the Gladstone School District, will be implementing Communities That Care. CTC is an evidence-based prevention framework that utilizes 5 phases to guide communities to identify strengths and risks in local youth and implement tested and effective prevention programs and policies to promote youth well-being and success. The CTC Facilitator will help guide our community's CTC effort. The Facilitator supports the community board and its workgroups in understanding the CTC process and completing the CTC Milestones & Benchmarks.
Essential Functions
- Use effective group facilitation skills to help guide the coalition through the Communities That Care (CTC) planning and implementation process.
- Prepare and lead the CTC workshops in appropriate order and timing for effective community progress, with support from the CTC coach.
- Coordinate the dissemination of CTC information to key leaders, schools, other youth service providers, and the public. Make presentations and prepare community board members for community outreach.
- Comply with policies and procedures, including client confidentiality, state administrative rules, and federal policies related to applicable programs.
- Maintain all program records in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with programmatic and state requirements.
- Plan annual stakeholder retreats for annual evaluations.
- Support 5 to 6 stakeholder work groups.
Assist the Project Director with the following:
- Completing the CTC Milestones and Benchmarks.
- Coordinating efforts to identify and solve problems in completing the Milestones and Benchmarks and assist in implementing solutions.
- Recruiting key leaders and potential community board members.
- Preparing and following up on the community board meetings.
- Preparing the documentation and reports as needed.
- Facilitating community prevention board tasks, including, but not limited to, collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; community outreach and public relations; and board meetings. Lead discussions related to project planning and maintenance.
- Work with the Project Director, the community prevention stakeholders, members of the larger community and the CTC coach to develop and implement a comprehensive community prevention plan.
- Establish systems to monitor selected interventions' implementation, conduct youth focus groups, and provide annual program evaluations.
- Working with the community board leadership or designated workgroup to oversee the implementation of the preventative interventions selected by the community prevention board.
- Writing grant proposals, reports, concept papers and other material needed to obtain funding.
- Developing and managing the budget.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Two years of experience working with adolescents, families and community organizations in the prevention field.
- Experience working with diverse community partners.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of the research process, including data collection, analysis and application.
- Understanding of evidence-based prevention theory and practices.
- Leadership skills and ability to facilitate group processes and training.
- Education or background in public health, community organizing or education.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment while adhering to prescribed policies and procedures and perform the position's essential functions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships and work in partnership with supervisor, other staff, students, and the general public.
- Ability to work effectively with and respond to people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism in dress, speech and manner appropriate to the assignment and work setting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to follow district policies and procedures at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of criminal history records check, as required by law.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services for related field.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets.
- Ability to understand and prepare grant applications, and concept papers.
- Experience in project management and/or strategic planning such as program development, developing and evaluating outcomes, conducting data analysis and evaluation, developing operations and marketing plans, and developing timelines.
- Understanding/working knowledge of youth-serving systems and agencies.
- Ability to work with youth boards and representatives.
- Familiarity with local community; experience with prevention efforts in this community.
- Self starter who also understands group process.
This position is 1.0 FTE; 240 days per year.
Start date: As soon as possible.
Annual salary to be prorated based on start date and number of work days remaining in the 2024-25 fiscal year.
