Oregon City High School is a comprehensive high school school with approximately 2,000 students, located in the suburban Portland/Metro area. We are looking for high-energy and creative educators that will continue our collective focus on engaging all learners at high levels, while building students' foundations for the 21st century. Position Description:
- Teach 2 periods per day Plan and instruct STEM Physics courses
- Collaborate with course team, department, school staff, district, and community stakeholders Communicate effectively with students, families and fellow staff members
Candidate Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon teaching license with the appropriate Science endorsement(s)
- Dynamic, engaging, and versatile science teacher eager to support students in their progress toward proficiency in Science & Engineering Practices
- Knowledge of and experience implementing high leverage instructional strategies
- Ability to create a student-centered classroom
- Ability to differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of students
- Demonstrate familiarity with culturally responsive teaching Interest in becoming involved in the whole OCHS community and participating in school-wide committees and activities
This position is 0.5 FTE for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
Position dates: As soon as possible - 6/12/2025
Salary to be prorated based on FTE and start date.
