Oregon City High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 2,000 students, located in the suburban Portland/Metro area. We are looking for teachers that will continue our collective focus on engaging all learners at high levels, while building students' foundations for the 21st century. We are an AVID Certified school and are also working with the Center for High School Success with a focus on ninth grade success. Posting Description:
The individual accepting this position may teach Algebra, Geometry, Common Core Algebra, Common Core Geometry, Bridges to Algebra 2, or Algebra 2. Depending on certification and license, other classes may be assigned.
Special Requirements: (License, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
1. Valid Oregon teaching license appropriate to the assignment. 2. Understanding and experience with PLC's and Common Core Math Standards.
3. Knowledge of social/emotional needs of high school students, and ability to work well with culturally diverse students and peers.
4. Use of a variety of learning and instructional models.
5. Interest in being involved with the total school community.
6. Personal attributes: Possession of a good sense of humor, willingness to work hard, demonstrated rapport with students and staff, high energy level, and possession of sound organizational skills and practices.
7. Must have the ability to work collaboratively to share facilities and responsibilities.
8. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
9. High school teaching experience preferred.
10. AVID teaching preferred through AVID school-wide or AVID tutoring.
11. A video sample of you teaching a lesson may be requested if you are called for an interview.
This position is 1.0 FTE for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
Salary to be adjusted based on start date.
