If you are a current Substitute Instructional Assistant in our district you do not need to complete this application.  You will need to complete the annual required trainings and submit your training transcript to Human Resources.

 

After completing the Instructional Assistant application, you will be contacted by the department of Human Resources once your application has been reviewed.

 

Under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher, the substitute instructional assistant will supervise students during the recess period, in the classroom and perform other duties as assigned. Possible assignments could include one-on-one student assistance, Special Education classrooms or general education classrooms for students Kindergarten through 12th grade. Duties are at all schools in the District and assignments may be different each day. 

 

Applicants will be required to be fingerprinted and complete a criminal records check as well as: 

  • Seventy two (72) credit hours of post high school studies, earned an Associate’s Degree or higher or passed the National Career Readiness test preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with school-age students preferred but not required. 
  • The ability to work harmoniously with teachers, students, and other staff. 
  • Be able to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.
  • Bilingual applicants desired, but not required. 
  • Be dependable and flexible with schedule.
