POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position substitutes for custodial services with varying shifts and duties, jobs can be at any school in the district. It requires you to have a sufficient minimum experience in janitorial work to demonstrate the ability to function self-sufficiently following a brief orientation period. Sufficient education to demonstrate an ability to read and write as required in the position. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which insures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
An employee in this classification may perform any of the following duties. However, these examples do not include all the specific tasks which an employee may be expected to perform.
• Works from a prepared work schedule; sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes concrete, linoleum, tile and wood floors; vacuums carpets. Clean all types of surfaces.
• Washes, scrubs and disinfects restrooms, cleans windows, door glass and drinking fountains. Applies cleaning chemicals according to established safety procedures.
• Empties and cleans waste baskets and picks up paper and other refuse in hallways, entrances and general grounds as necessary.
• Rearranges chairs, tables, desks, furniture and other equipment to facilitate cleaning activities and for special room arrangement requirements. Adheres to safety measures for lifting, moving and operating equipment.
• The daily cleaning routine will vary between schools.
• Secures school buildings to insure proper building security at all time. Lock and secure building at the end of the shift.
• Must be flexible with schedule: able to work day or night shifts
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling and crouching are required.
• Must have good communication skills and work well with others.
HOURS, DAYS AND LOCATIONS WILL VARY

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $20.26 PER HOUR
