This individual will assist building teams with evaluation of children with autism spectrum disorder or other social/behavioral challenges. Provide consultation to parent/school teams regarding appropriate supports, social skills development and educational strategies for children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders or other developmental social/behavioral challenges. Provide functional behavioral analysis training and consultation to school teams working with children with social behavioral challenges stemming from ASD, PDD or other neurodevelopmental issues. Assist the district special services evaluation team with select psychoeducational assessments and subsequent staff consultation. Ability to administer functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans.
Special Requirements: (Certifications, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
- Knowledge of students with social and behavioral issues including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or related needs.
- Training and experience in providing school-based autism services.
- Familiarity with inclusive education strategies.
- Proficiency in participation in special education interdisciplinary case management.
- Qualified to conduct, or familiar with, appropriate screenings and assessments.
- Experience with differential diagnosis or identification of children and adolescents demonstrating characteristics of ASD or other neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Ability to support students and staff with appropriate behavioral supports and interventions.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time and material organizational skills.
- Familiarity with functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
- Masters Degree in school psychology or similar clinical field, preferred.
- Two years of direct service with special education/high risk children in a school setting, preferred.
- Current Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in good standing with the BACB
- Current licensure as an Oregon Licensed Behavior Analyst
This position is 1.0 FTE for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
Annual salary will be adjusted based on the number of paid days.
Salary will be paid in equal monthly payments through August.
