THIS IS A POOL OF THREE POSITIONS FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR SERVING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
TITLE: After the Bell Support Staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Experience in working with youth, youth development, camps, childcare, educational instruction or related disciplines. (Minimum 1 year)
- Personal attributes: Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with children and adults. Ability to clearly communicate and problem-solve quickly. Patient and flexible with people and expectations as appropriate. Positive attitude.
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card, CPR/First Aid certificates prior to employment.
- Must complete required ELD/ODHS training prior to employment.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, active, and changing environment.
- Bilingual applicants are desired, but not required.
REPORTS TO: School-Age Programs Coordinator and OCCE Supervisor
SUPERVISES: None
JOB GOAL: Support in providing an enriching and engaging after-school care environment for children in elementary school after school hours on all school days.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and lead age-appropriate after-school activities for Kindergarten-5th grade children in a school setting.
- Assist in the supervision of 30 – 65 children in both large and small group settings (Ratios are typically 1:15).
- Actively engage in games, enrichment activities, STEAM projects, and recreational activities with the children.
- Use positive behavior (PBIS) guidelines and strategies to support and respond to student behaviors.
- Provide active supervision and observational awareness skills during the entirety of the shift.
- Document and communicate concerns and problems in a timely manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized space at the ATB site; be respectful of the school rules and expectations across school settings.
- Communicate effectively and frequently with staff, students, and supervisors.
- Attend all staff meetings and Inservice Days that are held 2-4 times per year.
NUMBER OF HOURS PER DAY: 1.0 - 4.25 HOURS PER DAY DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY AND SCHEDULING
NUMBER OF DAYS WORKED PER SCHOOL YEAR: AS NEEDED IN SUBSTITUTE CAPACITY
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $17.52 PER HOUR (RANGE 8; STEP C)
